storm_06_ens Hurricane Preparedness List DjdkD5QU0AAog_6 EvacZone-NC EvacZone-SC RainFlorence

We started preparing our website members for this system last Friday and now it appears that worse case scenario may be about to occur.  Florence is now a Category 4 hurricane and will be an historic event unlike anything ever experienced if it happens as forecast. You should already be prepared but if not then do it NOW!  Models are predicting many areas of NC/Northern SC to receive anywhere from 12-48” of rainfall and this event will be one that goes in the history books when all is said and done.  Life-threatening storm surge/rip currents on the NC/SC/VA coasts is expected and very likely.  Expect the rip currents to increase over the next 24 hours and arrival to the coast to occur sometime Thursday afternoon.  We have a significantly increased threat to loss of life and property and this storm should not be taken lightly.  With not only historic wind potential but flooding potential with a stalled system for several days.
